Under the stage name “Nude Son” (derived from a common mispronunciation of his last name) Knudson has written and recorded over 20 songs distributed across a full-length LP, several EPs, and single tracks. His debut record, Things You Say was released in June 2021. He is completely self-produced from the songs’ writing processes, recording sessions, and mixing/mastering work. It is a passion that has been with him since middle school when Knudson recorded several covers of his favourite songs by The Beatles.

Nude Son’s sound is defined by guitar-driven textures and vintage instruments. He has a particular affection for both the Mellotron and the Hammond B3 organ. He takes influence from 1960s classic rock such as The Beatles and The Beach Boys, and from 1990s rock & alternative bands like Wilco, Oasis, and They Might Be Giants. Knudson’s lyrics are often personal in nature taking a look at the darker sides of love and relationships, but exploring these emotions through song is overall cathartic for him.
